Statement of Intent

Poster 1 - 'The outfit'

  • Media Language (conventions of the products)
  • My model and outfit chosen is the main focus in my advertisement. The brand name will be over the top of the poster with the logo in the bottom right corner. The Fairtrade logo will also be seen on the poster to remind the audience what the band is for and where the money goes to.

  • Media Audience (Target Audience)
  • My target audience are young adults in the age range of 16-25. At this age, young people can be suffering or overcoming self-consciousness and I would like my posters to convey a message of independence and well-being.

  • Media Representation (How the message is constructed about groups of people and how the audience relate to these constructions)
  • The audience will relate to the product and its eye-catching qualities such as the pose and outfit choice. By not showing a face in the photo it gives the message that my brand is about quality of clothing and lives (Faitrade) than how 'pretty' I think my models are or if they have the 'perfect body'.
  • Media Industries (The companies behind the products, the legal considerations and how profit is generated by the products. Considerations relating to cross-media platforms and where products will appear as part of the campaign.).
  • Fairtrade is working with Harmony to produce clothes that the customer feels comfortable wearing, mentally and physically. It is important that the audience know the good cause their money is going to when they buy the product.

    Poster 2 -  'Footwear'

  • Media Language (conventions of the products)
  • The main focus of this advert is the footwear and how the feet and 'posed'. The brand name will be positioned over the top of the advert with the logo in the bottom right corner. The Fairtrade logo will also be seen to remind the audience what this brand is for and what it supports.
  • The audience will notice my advertisement due to the odd position the feet will be in and what shoes they'll wear (heels). Again I am showing nothing more than just above the knee and the model will wear appropriate clothing to show the audience that Harmony is about the product, not selling the product through sexualising women.
